Independent Bookshop and Publisher Twinning pt. 2

21/05/2020

Last week we shared offers to twin with Wrecking Ball and And Other Stories. Today we have offers from three more brilliant indie publishers.

Louise Walters Books
So far I have signed seven writers. I publish Laura Laakso's paranormal crime series Wilde Investigations. We released the third book in the series in March. We are currently working on a TV pitch, and Laura has a sizeable and engaged following on Twitter https://twitter.com/LLaaksoWriter. My other authors are literary, writing stand-alone novels. My bestseller to date is Don't Think a Single Thought by Diana Cambridge. It was picked for the Clare Mackintosh online book club. I have also published The Naseby Horses by Dominic Brownlow which is a beautiful, gripping, literary novel. It was my first hardback, and in December Dom and I toured several indie bookshops to promote it. The paperback was due out in June, but will now be out in August. I also publish novels by acclaimed poet Helen Kitson; her debut was The Last Words of Madeleine Anderson, and currently we are editing her second novel, Old Bones, out in June next year. My other forthcoming titles are Cath Barton's In the Sweep of the Bay (November 2020), Chris Walsh's The Dig Street Festival (March 2021); and S J Norbury's Mrs Narwhal's Diary (May 2021) which is an uplifting, funny novel that will appeal to readers looking for post-pandemic "comfort" reads.

My number one aim at LWB is to publish excellent writers, with genuine talent. Being "twinned" with an indie bookshop, or bookshops, would be marvellous. I'd love to twin with any bookshops local-ish to me: I'm based near Banbury in north Oxfordshire, so bookshops in Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire or Warwickshire would be ideal. I offer signed copies with extra merch to all indie bookshops; my authors are all very willing to take part in events. I can supply books directly, and my titles are also all available via Gardners.

My website is https://www.louisewaltersbooks.co.uk/ where you can discover more about me and my authors. I have over 6000 Twitter followers  https://twitter.com/LouiseWalters12 Please email info@louisewaltersbooks.co.uk if you are interested.

Uclan Publishing
UCLan Publishing

UCLan Publishing are based in the North of England and involve BA Publishing and MA Publishing students from the University of Central Lancashire at every stage of the publishing process. BA Publishing and MA Publishing students are based within our company and work on producing books as part of their course – some of which are selected to be published and printed by UCLan Publishing. Students also gain first-hand experience of negotiating with buyers, conceiving and running innovative high-level events to leverage sales, as well as running content creation business enterprises.

As we're fairly new to the trade we'd absolutely love the opportunity to partner with independent book shops. Our offering can be flexible to suit your business needs and could range from live virtual author events, to author social media 'takeovers' and downloadable resources.
